Hard Work and God’s Favor Bring Success for TAPPS Team
The 91原创 TAPPS team recently returned from District 1A聽competition in Dallas with the first place trophy.
TAPPS (Texas Association聽of Private and Parochial Schools) competition is the private school聽equivalent of UIL and affords students the opportunity to participate in聽academic, drama, and speaking contests at the district and state levels. The聽15-member team participated in eighteen events and garnered enough points to聽win first place out of the eight competing schools. The team travels to聽Austin next month to compete at the state level.
Winners in specific events included the following: Prose Interpretation:聽Aaron Bryant (1st), Sam Alders (3rd), Elizabeth Castleberry (4th);聽Persuasive Speaking: Miranda Kunk (1st), Haley Duke (2nd); Spelling: Tim聽Marshall (4th); Current Events & Issues: Miranda Kunk (1st), Jonathan Sowell聽(3rd); Number Sense: Sam Alders (1st), Tyler Sowell (6th); Calculator: Sam聽Alders (1st), Tyler Sowell (2nd), Dylan Richardson (5th); Advanced Math: Sam聽Alders (1st); Solo Acting: Megan Marshall (2nd), Alice Bryant (3rd); Duet聽Acting: Aaron Bryant & Haley Duke (2nd), Alice Bryant & Kyla Alders (4th);聽Literary Criticism: Miranda Kunk (1st), Sam Alders (2nd); Social Studies:聽Michaela Hill (1st); Poetry Interpretation: Aaron Bryant (1st), Elizabeth聽Castleberry (4th), Alice Bryant (5th); Original Oratory: Haley Duke (1st);聽Miranda Kunk (2nd); Mathematics: Kyla Alders (4th).
